    Our Current Team

    Grayson and Caleb, two Durham City firefighters and Kevin on the right with over twenty-six years of combined experience. We value our firefighters! These awesome guys do their work whole-heartedly and bring a sense of humor too!

  • A Family Business

    Fire Safe Chimney Sweep was established in 1981 by Bob Perera. Seeing the need in his community for a reliable and trustworthy chimney sweeping service, Bob started the company which grew from just chimney sweeping to providing cap installations, wood stoves, gutter cleanings and more! After 43 years and desiring to retire, he passed the business on to a faithful employee: Kevin Ellis who worked with Bob for over 16 years. Kevin took over the company after Bob's retirement in 2024, renaming it Fire Safe Chimney Solutions to reflect the additional services we offer. Our goal is to uphold the 43 years of excellent service and provide high quality and affordable solutions to all your chimney needs! He does this with his amazing wife, Alayna while also raising 4 beautiful kids and employing a receptionist, Meridith, who also happens to be his mother-in-law.
